The Western Ghats are recognized as one of the world’s 8 hot spots of biological diversity and contain an extensive portion of India’s plant and animal species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. Since Goa constitutes as a part of the Western Ghats many herbs and endemic plants bloom during the monsoon season.
So…what is monsoon?
A monsoon is a seasonal shift in the prevailing wind direction, that typically brings with it a different kind of weather i.e LOTS of rain. It almost always refers to the Asian monsoon, a vast region extending from India to Southeast Asia where monsoon conditions prevail between the months of June and August which can sometimes extend into September.
